MKW Poems

Welcome!
What was once a string of too-long instagram captions, birthed out of the heavy weight of motherhood, especially the weight that followed our son’s Autism diagnosis, has grown and involved into poems, storytelling, and now has its own little corner of the internet. I’ve been writing my whole life, making lists, taking notes, and filling journals. Most of that writing has stayed tucked away, a little something that was just mine, buried under layers of marriage, parenting, perfectionism, and “One-Days.” But I’m 30 years old now, and something about that milestone brought a sweetness to the idea of growing — growing up, growing older, growing in learning new things (and failing), and growing in the wisdom to try again. I named this site “MKW poems” because she does, finally. I’m really glad you’re here.
