God of the waiting room,
Of pinched and worried faces;
Of scrolling and fidgeting.
Of tense whispers —
Please give us peace.

God of the white crinkly paper
And cold creaking tables
Of nervous rambling and
Stilted chit-chat —
Please give us wisdom.

God who loves children
And made them like Him.
Who placed them in our
Trembling arms with the promise
He made them just right —
Please be near to us.
